Thousands gather to attend the funeral of Bollywood star Sridive

Thousands of Bolivians and Bollywood stars gathered in a gymnasium in Mumbai on Wednesday to attend the funeral of Indian actress Sridive, who died in Dubai on Saturday.

The 54-year-old was in Dubai for a family wedding when she died of accidental drowning in her hotel's bathroom, the autopsy showed.

The body of Sridive arrived in Mumbai late Tuesday.

Her family issued a statement asking her fans to gather at the club near her home in Mumbai, NDTV reported.

The funeral ceremony is scheduled to start from the club to the burning site, 7 km (2 miles) local time (0830 GMT), the statement said.

Sridive is married to producer Bonnie Kapoor and they have two daughters.

الآلاف يحتشدون للمشاركة في جنازة نجمة بوليوود سريديفي

احتشد الآلاف من المواطنين ونجوم بوليوود، وهم يحملون الورود ويتلون الصلوات، في نادي للألعاب الرياضية في مومباي اليوم الأربعاء للمشاركة في جنازة الممثلة الهندية سريديفي التي توفيت في دبي السبت الماضي.

وكانت سريديفي / 54 عاما/ في دبي لحضور حفل زفاف عائلي عندما توفيت بسبب غرق عارض في حمام شقتها الفندقية، بحسب ما أظهره التشريح.

وقد وصل جثمان سريديفي لمومباي في وقت متأخر من أمس الثلاثاء.

وأصدرت أسرتها بيانا طالبت فيه محبيها بالتجمع عند النادي بالقرب من منزلها في مومباي، وذلك بحسب ما ذكرته شبكة ان دي تي في .

وجاء في البيان أنه من المقرر أن تبدأ مراسم الجنازة من النادي إلى موقع الحرق، على بعد سبعة كيلومترات، الساعة الثانية بالتوقيت المحلي (0830 صباحا بتوقيت جرينتش).

ويشار إلى أن سريديفي متزوجة من المنتج بوني كابور ولديهما ابنتان.
