The first mobile phone network to launch high-tech satellite-to-Earth broadcasting is being built on the moon next year as part of a project to support the first privately funded moon mission.
Vodafone Germany, Nokia Network Equipment and Audi Motor Co. said Tuesday they were working together to support the mission, 50 years after Sir Neil Armstrong, the first NASA astronaut on the moon.
Vodafone said it had chosen Nokia as a technology partner to develop a space-ready network that would be a small body weighing about one kilogram.

Vodafone said the companies were working with BT Scientists in Berlin to launch the mission in 2019 from Cape Canaveral on a Space X 9 Falcon.

وقالت شركتا فودافون ألمانيا ونوكيا لمعدات الشبكات وشركة أودي لصناعة السيارات الثلاثاء إنها تعمل معا لدعم البعثة وذلك بعد مرور 50 عاما على سير نيل آرمسترونغ أول رائد فضاء من إدارة الطيران والفضاء الأميركية (ناسا) على سطح القمر.

وقالت فودافون إنها اختارت نوكيا شريكا تكنولوجيا لتطوير شبكة مجهزة للعمل في الفضاء ستكون على هيئة جسم صغير يزن نحو كيلوجرام واحد.

وذكرت فودافون أن الشركات تعمل مع شركة ”بي.تي ساينتستس“ في برلين بهدف إطلاق المهمة في 2019 من كيب كنافيرال على متن صاروخ فالكون 9 تابع لشركة سبيس إكس.
